 FOR (+) Il mais GM 5307 produce una proteina insetticida, eCry3.1Ab, una tossina derivata da tossine Bt, che si trova naturalmente nei batteri del suolo, mentre studi scientifici dimostrano che è altamente probabile che le tossine Bt siano immunogeniche, il che significa che possono aumentare le reazioni allergiche. EFSA non ha valutato in modo soddisfacente queste considerazioni nella valutazione. L'autorizzazione di questi OGM comporterà rischi inaccettabili alla sicurezza alimentare, alla salute umana e animale e all'ambiente: ho quindi votato a favore dell'obiezione.

 FOR (+) In questa obiezione mi sono espressa contro l'autorizzazione, decisa ancora una volta unilateralmente dalla Commissione, del mais GM 5307, che produce una proteina insetticida e una tossina che probabilmente causa un aumento delle reazioni allergiche, aspetto che l'EFSA non ha adeguatamente considerato nella sua valutazione e nel suo parere alla Commissione.
Ancora una volta, gli Stati membri hanno approfittato di questa "situazione di comodo", e hanno evitato di prendere posizione, di fatto nascondendosi dietro la Commissione, che ha autorizzato questo OGM sulla base di una valutazione incompleta dell'EFSA.
Insieme ai miei colleghi del Movimento 5 Stelle, ho dunque votato a favore di questa obiezione, di cui sono stata coautrice.
