CASA
AGAINST (+) I voted in favour of this Report as I believe that the objective of this proposal of establishing a modern comprehensive and technologically neutral framework for electronic communications in the Union, will help to ensure a high level of protection of individuals with regard to their fundamental rights of private life and data protection. The achievement of a Digital Single Market builds on a reliable legal framework for electronic communications that will increase trust of individuals on digital economy and will also allow businesses to pursue their activities in full respect of fundamental rights.

FOR (+) I voted in favour of giving consent to the rapporteur of the E-Privacy directive to enter into negotiations on the E-Privacy directive on the basis of the negotiated text agreed upon by the LIBE Committee. This first reading will be the basis for negotiations with the Council and Commission. This Regulation will ensure a higher level of privacy for European Citizens, when it comes to browsing online and will ensure that citizens data cannot be used without consent.

FOR (+) I supported the mandate to enter into negotiations pursuant to Rule 69c: Regulation on Privacy and Electronic Communications. The Committee has voted its position and without any further delay all institutions should start inter-institutional negotiations. Any further delays on this important legislation will be for the detriment of the European citizens.
